A shorter episode: the car-free district's small roads are upgraded now rather than later, offices buffer homes from shops, the forestry area unlocks medium plantations and a large log yard (trees moved, not cut), the career centre gets another book club and IT club, and a new four-stop ferry line with a small parking area serves the riverfront. Westfield nears 135,000.
What happens in this episode
Westfield University is in, the first on this side of the shore, and the district is almost car-free: metro from across the river, trams, buses and a tourist line. This episode adds more homes and gets the roads ready for the future.
How it was built
Roads that last
Some small two-lane roads are upgraded now. It costs a few buildings, but if the district ever connects to the highway it will get a lot of traffic, and I’d rather not rebuild a finished area later. Gaps are filled, and a row of offices separates shops from homes, because commercial zones are louder. A few cars came in after all, so it can’t stay completely car-free, but it still won’t be connected to the highway for now.
Forestry
The forestry area was upgraded, unlocking medium tree plantations and a large log yard. The big trees in the way are moved, not cut, using Move It’s “trees only” selection. Sawdust storage completes it.
Campus attractiveness
The Pleasant Career Center had enough students but too little attractiveness. Another book club and IT club met the requirements.
A second ferry line
A new ferry stop gets a small parking area, partly for realism. Trees are planted with the line tool. The ferry line has four stops in a loop and carried about 50 passengers early on, with a bit more funding. More roads, offices and a small park fill the riverfront, which is one of the prime areas in town. The district grows more slowly than the rest because it has no road connection, but nicely. Westfield is close to 135,000.

FAQ
Should I upgrade roads before traffic arrives?
If a district will likely be connected to the highway later, upgrading small two-lane roads early saves you from rebuilding a finished area under traffic.
How do you move only trees with Move It?
Use the filter to select only trees. Then you can move a whole group aside before placing new buildings, instead of deleting them.
How do you set up a ferry line?
Place ferry stops along the shore, then draw the line stop by stop and close it. Ferries follow the water path you define.
